One of the strangest things women sometimes have to explain is why they want more.

More income.

More education.

More opportunities.

More confidence.

More experiences.

More for their children.

Maybe you do have enough to be grateful for. But gratitude and ambition are not enemies.

You can appreciate today and still prepare for tomorrow

Being grateful for your marriage doesn't mean you can't want to build a career.

Being grateful for your job doesn't mean you can't want better opportunities.

Being grateful for your current income doesn't mean you can't want to earn more.

Gratitude says, “I appreciate what I have.” Growth says, “I believe I can become more.” You can say both.

Don't let guilt become the price of ambition

Wanting to improve your life isn't an insult to the life you currently have. Ask yourself: What do I want more of? More money for what? More education for what? More freedom for what?

When you understand the reason behind your desire, your ambition becomes more intentional.
